Same Paint Brand & Product Line
A budget contractor-grade paint and a premium line from the same brand can cost twice as much per gallon — make sure both bids specify the exact product, not just the brand name.
Same Number of Coats
Two coats is standard for most repaints. A noticeably lower bid is often a one-coat job — ask how many coats are included in writing.
Same Surface Preparation
Scraping, sanding, caulking, patching and priming take real time and are often the first thing cut to lower a price. Prep is most of what makes a paint job last.
Licensed & Insured
Ask for the contractor's California CSLB license number and proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance. An uninsured crew on your property is a real risk, not a paperwork formality.
Employees, Not Day Labor
Some low bids are staffed with uninsured day labor hired the morning of the job. Ask whether the crew are trained employees of the company you're hiring.

Guarantee Terms
- •The competing estimate must be in writing, current (dated within 30 days) and from a California-licensed, insured painting contractor.
- •The scope, paint brand and product line, number of coats and surface preparation must be comparable to our proposal.
- •This guarantee applies to residential and commercial painting estimates within our service area and does not apply to sports court or epoxy flooring projects.
- •Must be presented before work begins on either proposal. Not valid in combination with any other offer or prior proposal.
- •Wall 2 Wall Painting, Inc. reserves the right to verify a competing estimate's license and insurance before honoring this guarantee.
